Christmas Cookies

1: Whip the butter until light and fluffy.

2: Add powdered sugar and the salt, continue to whip until smooth.

3: Add the egg yolk and mix well. (Add colour gel now if using.)

4: Add in the flour and stir until a soft, pipeable dough forms.

5: If the dough is too thick, add up to 1 tbsp of warm water.

6: Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with tip 8B.

7: Pipe the large star shapes onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Use the end of a piping tip to make holes in the centres. Add some sprinkles.

8: Pop the tray into the freezer for 20-30 minutes before baking.

9: Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes.

10: Cool completely before decorating.
